Nigredo, 2013

Looking to understand the first men's attitude towards the matter, when in the same time they realized their ability to alter the way substances are, I enjoy reproducing their moves and their gear just as an experimental archeologist would do.
For Nigredo I notably proceeded with the archaic distillation of a birch tree's bark into open fire. The plant tar you get then would thus actually be the most ancient chemical product of man. The earliest tracks of that glue being used in the making of composite tools would be 120 000 years BC.
